There are buildings all around the world that simply take your breath away and when you think it seems impossible that they were created and built by the hands of people.They proudly stand and witness people and centuries that pass by them. These are 10 buildings that took away our breath.

Saint Basil’s Cathedral or The Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed is a church in Red Square in Moscow,Russia.Once a church today a museum is one of the visited place in the world.The original building contained eight side churches arranged around the ninth,central one.But the tenth church was added over the grave of venerated local saint Vasily.The building is shaped as a flame of a bonfire rising into the sky.With it’s vivid colors makes a truly magnificent sight and something you will never erase from your memory.

Petronas Tower (Kuala Lumpur)
These twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur were the tallest buildings in the world from 1988 to 2004. The Petronas Towers feature a diamond-faceted facade consisting of 83,500 square meters (899,000 sq ft) of stainless steel extrusions. While the stainless steel element of the towers entices the illustrious sun, highlighting the magnificent towers. On the top of each tower is a pinnacle standing 73.5 meters tall. The interiors of the towers highlight the Malaysian cultural inspiration to the design through traditional aspects such as fabric and carvings this is evident in the foyer of the entrance halls.

Chrysler Building (New York City, USA)
Located on the East side of Manhattan Chrysler Building is a representative Art Deco style skyscraper. Patterns of the Art Deco style can be seen wherever you look was that the exterior or the interior.The building was made in white and dark gray brick used as horizontal decoration to enhance the window rows. To build the tallest building in New York wasn’t just a challenge it was a status symbol.For Walter P.Chrysler this was a challenge.His building was certainly the tallest in New York but not for long.One year later the Empire State Building took the title.

Taj Mahal (Uttar Pardesh, India)
Standing on the banks of River Yamuna Taj Mahal is one of the most beautiful jewels of India. This beautiful monument was made so that the beloved wife of emperor Shah Jahan who died is always remembered. A Persian princess and one of his three wifes died after giving birth to their 14th child.The fake sarcophagi can be seen in the main chamber but the real ones are placed in chambers which are lower.Taj Mahal attracts more than 3 million people and it is considered to be a symbol of India and it’s rich history.

The Louvre Museum is one of the largest museums in the world and a historic monument in Paris.The museum is located in the Louvre Palace,which was originally built as an fortress and the remants can be seen in basement of the museum.The building was extended many times in order to get the look that is known today.

Cathedral of Santa Maria Del Fore (Florence, Italy)
This is the main church in Florence.When you are visiting Tuscany in Italy this is one of the major tourist attractions .The exterior of the church is faced with polychrome marble panels in different shades of green and pink bordered by white.This remains the largest brick dome ever constructed.The whole facade is dedicated to the Mother of Christ.

Hagia Sophia (Istanbul,Turkey)
Hagia Sophia was a Christian patriarchal basilica(church),later on it was an imperial mosque and today it is a museum.Located in Istanbul it one of the must see places when you visit this magical city.This is one of the buildings that is said to have “changed the history of architecture“. Hagia Sophia is one of the truest examples of Byzantine architecture.Interior is decorated with mosaics and marble pillars.

Burj Al Arab (Dubai, UAE)
The Burj Al Arab is the tower of the Arabs and it stands proudly on an artificial island that is connected to the main island by a private curving bridge.Today this is one of the largest hotels in the world.When you look at it from the far it is supposed to look like the sail of the ship.

Sagrada Familia (Barcelona,Spain)
Sagrada Familia is a large Roman Catholic church located in Barcelona and designed by the architect Antoni Gaudi.Construction of the church began in 1882.and its completion date is in 2026.The church at the end will have three facades-the Nativity(facade to the East),the Passion(facade to the West) and the Glory(facade to the South),the last one isn’t completed yet.Although not finished yet Sagrada Familia is UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Kansas city public library (Missouri, USA)
This public library in Kansas is definitely one of the most unusual architecture around the world.The main wall was designed so that it looks like huge row of books on the shelf.On this big bookshelf there are 22 titles and they were suggested by the Kansas City readers and then selected by The Kansas City Public Library Board of Trustees.The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R.Tolkien,Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare are just one of them.
