Massive blasts in Tianjin leave 56 dead, fires under control
Death toll rises to 56 from Tianjin blasts

The death toll has risen to 56, including 21 firemen, from massive warehouse explosions that hit north China's Tianjin city Wednesday night, local authorities said Friday.


At least 21 firefighters killed in Tianjin blasts

At least 21 firefighters have died in the line of duty as of Friday afternoon after two massive explosions, on Wednesday, ripped through a warehouse in northern Chinese port city of Tianjin.
The official death toll from Wednesday night's massive explosions at the Port of Tianjin now sits at 55. At least 18 others are listed as missing.Of the over 700 people hospitalized, at least 70 remain in critical condition.
24 hours after the blasts, hundreds of volunteers helped to maintain the order in front of the Taida International Hospital in Tianjin, north China at 11:30 p.m. Aug 12, 2015. Some of them had been busy for the whole day. A lot of relief supplies had been sent to the scene.All medical workers in the hospital work overtime to help the victims. The hospital provides free treatment to all injured people. 
A press conference relate to the explosion at Binhai district is held in Tianjin, north China, Aug. 13, 2015. Several containers caught fire before the warehouse explosion at Tianjin Port on Wednesday night, authorities said on Thursday. A total of 3,500 people have been relocated to 10 nearby schools, Zhang Yong, head of the Binhai district government said.(Xinhua/Zhang Chenlin)
