The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on the eve of their National Day (May 28, 2015).


In his message to His Excellency Mr. Mulatu Teshome, the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, it gives me great pleasure to convey to you and to the people of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, my warm greetings and felicitations on the occasion of your National Day.

India and Ethiopia share cordial relations marked by close and growing cooperation. Our ties are based on the strong foundation of our long standing friendship. I am confident that the relations between our two countries will continue to expand and strengthen in the coming years to the mutual benefit of both our peoples.

India and Azerbaijan enjoy cordial relations based on the traditionally close historical and cultural linkages between our peoples. I am confident that our multifaceted bilateral cooperation will continue to strengthen and diversify to our mutual benefit in the years to come. PM meets entire PMO family at RCR lawns

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today invited all officials and staff of the Prime Minister's Office, for high tea, on the occasion of completion of one year in office.

The Prime Minister said that the entire PMO family shares the credit for the success that has been achieved in serving people over the past year. Shri Narendra Modi said that a sensitive and humane approach was needed in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Prime Minister's Office.

The Prime Minister met various officials, and posed for group photographs with them.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh called on the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today at the Prime Minister's official residence, 7 Race Course Road(RCR).

German Defence Minister calls on PM


The German Defence Minister Dr. Ursula von der Leyen called on Prime Minister today.

She conveyed Germany's keen interest in collaborating with India in defence technology and equipment, including defence manufacturing in India, cyber security and maritime cooperation.

She conveyed that Chancellor Merkel was looking forward to her visit in October 2015 for the Inter-Governmental Commission meeting as an opportunity to deepen cooperation across all areas of bilateral relations. She mentioned that India's participation in the Hannover Trade Fair as Partner Country and Prime Minister's presence at the inauguration had made a visible impact in Germany, and there was a strong interest now in the Make in India mission.

Prime Minister recalled his visit to Germany and his excellent discussions with Chancellor Merkel and German business leaders. He reiterated that India considered Germany as a vital economic partner, including in areas like skill development and manufacturing. He invited German companies to take advantage of enormous opportunities of defence manufacturing and defence research and development in India. He looked forward to the visit of Chancellor Merkel later in the year.

PM's interaction through PRAGATI


The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today chaired his third interaction through PRAGATI - the ICT-based, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation. Initiating today's interaction, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that PRAGATI was speeding up decision-making processes in vital projects and important areas of governance. He also said that the spirit of problem-solving and swift implementation, which is being generated through the PRAGATI interactions, is gradually spreading to all areas of governance.

In the course of his review today, the Prime Minister reviewed the implementation of key issues pertaining to ex-servicemen. Expressing serious concern at the perceived "atmosphere of indifference" with regard to issues pertaining to ex-servicemen such as delay in pension and retirement benefits, the Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to pay more attention to their resolution at the earliest.

Reviewing the quality of service under CGHS (Central Government Health Service), the Prime Minister gave clear directions to the concerned departments to resolve pending issues and grievances at the earliest.

The Prime Minister reviewed the progress of key infrastructure and related projects in various states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Uttarakhand. Projects were reviewed in the sectors of road and rail connectivity, bridges, power transmission lines, coal, atomic energy, and industrial infrastructure. In the course of these reviews, the Prime Minister repeatedly stressed how improved coordination between the Centre and States could help avoid delays and cost overruns in projects.

Shri Narendra Modi also reviewed the implementation of the Prime Minister's special scholarship scheme for students of Jammu and Kashmir.

PMO’s website gets a new look

The Prime Minister Office website www.pmindia.gov.in has got a new look. The new website contains updated information on the work of the Government and other relevant news on the PM. The fresh look comes at the time when the NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi completes one year in office. Shri Modi shared the new look website on Twitter and Facebook.

The new website offers several features. It is a repository of news and information on the Prime Minister, his programmes and his speeches. It offers updated information on the initiatives taken by the Government. The website enables people to get in touch with the Prime Minister. People can write to the Prime Minister and share their thoughts and inputs. Similarly, the website directs people to the MyGov platform: https://mygov.in/ for suggestions and inputs on governance.


The new look website is a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on integrating technology in governance. The Government is working towards “Digital India,” that will benefit the lives of people.
