India Indonesia Joint Exercise Terminates

Exercise GARUDA SHAKTI-III, the 3rd exercise in the on going series of joint exercises between armies of India and Indonesia, was conducted at Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School in Vairengte, Mizoram from 09 to 21 Feb 15.

The exercise aimed at building and promoting positive military to military relations between the armies of the two nations. The scope included sharing experience in counter terrorism and conduct of joint counter insurgency training at platoon level aimed at neutralizing of terrorist threat. Indian Army was represented by troops from an Indian Infantry Battalion and Special Forces unit while personnel from 432 Battalion Kostrad Infantry (Airborne) and Gp I & Gp II of the Special Forces represented the Indonesian contingent. The joint training was aimed at enhancing the knowledge of each other’s military experience, skills and techniques and thereby enhancing the aspect of interoperability and responsiveness to a common threat in the future.

The Exercise will go a long way in further strengthening the historical and diplomatic ties between both the nations.


Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley Makes an Appeal to all the Employees of Public Sector Banks (Psbs), Their Unions & Associations not to Resort to Agitation Approach by Participating in Bank Strike; Says Bipartite Negotiations in a Cordial Manner is the only Available tool for Settlement

The Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley has made an appeal to all the employees of Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and their Unions & Associations not to resort to agitation approach by participating in bank strike . He informed the employees of PSBs that banks are already in negotiations with their Unions and Associations for wage settlement The Finance Minister Shri Jaitley said that the bipartite negotiations in a cordial manner is the only available tool for settlement.

The Finance Minister Shri Jaitley said that participating in the proposed strike is neither desirable nor affordable in the interest of the nation. Making an another appeal to the employees of PSBs, their Unions and Associations, the Finance Minister asked them not to resort to such disruptive means, and call off the call for strike.


Over 1 Lakh Forty Thousand Persons Visited Mughal Gardens in First Week of Opening

Over One lakh forty thousand persons have visited Mughal Gardens since its opening to the public on February 14.

The main attraction of this year’s Udyanotsav are Tulips in vivid colours of red, orange and yellow mixed with red, pink, purple and white. However, roses are central to the fame of Mughal Gardens and a permanent feature throughout the year. The garden has more than 120 celebrated varieties of roses. Unlike other gardens which grow a limited variety of roses but in large masses, the Mughal Garden features a large range of rose varieties in one place.

The Garden will remain open till March 15 every day of the week except Monday, from 9.30 AM to 4.00 PM. Entry is free of charge and from Gate No.35 of the President’s Estate, Near North Avenue.
