The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has greeted citizens on the eve of Christmas. 


In his message, the President has said, “On the joyous occasion of Christmas, I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all fellow citizens, especially our Christian brothers and sisters. I wish everyone a merry Christmas. 

As we light the candles for Christmas this year, let us rekindle in our minds and hearts the teachings of love and compassion of Lord Jesus Christ. May the spirit of caring and sharing pervade our beings. Let us on this day resolve to apply the divine teachings of Lord Jesus in our daily lives. Let us strive ceaselessly for peace on earth and goodwill among men”.

Vice President inaugurates Photo Exhibition on 134th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari 

The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari inaugurated a Photo Exhibition on the occasion of ‘134th Birth anniversary of Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari’ organized by the Faculty of Architecture and Ekistics in Jamia Millia Islamia here today. The Photo Exhibition has been curated by Prof. S.M. Akhtar. 

The Vice President visited the Photo Exhibition and showed keen interest in various photographs exhibited there. He congratulated the organizers for such a valuable exhibition of rare photographs on Dr. Ansari. 

Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari was an Indian nationalist and political leader, and former President of the Indian National Congress and the Muslim League during the Indian Independence Movement. One of the founders of the Jamia Millia Islamia University he remained its Chancellor 1928 to 1936.

The Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari has conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to all our citizens on the auspicious occasion of Christmas. In his message, he has said that as we celebrate the birthday of Lord Jesus Christ, let us commit ourselves to his noble message of peaceful coexistence, universal brotherhood and love and compassion for all.

PM sanctions ex-gratia relief for victims of militant attacks on tribals in Assam


The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed his grief over the loss of lives in the militant attacks on tribals in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur districts of Assam. He has sanctioned ex-gratia of Rs.2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs.50000/- to seriously injured persons from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. Rs.86 lakhs is being released to State Government from PMNRF.
