President of India condoles the passing away of Shri A. R. Antulay
The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the passing away of Shri A. R. Antulay.
In his condolence message to his wife, Smt. Nargis Antulay, the President has said, “It was with profound sorrow that I learnt of the sad demise of Shri A. R. Antulay.

An esteemed colleague and a dear friend, Shri Antulay served the nation in various capacities such as Union Minister, Chief Minister, Parliamentarian and Legislator. He made immense contribution towards the welfare and development of the people of the state of Maharashtra. In his passing, the nation has lost a leader, whose long years in public service will be remembered for years to come.
Kindly accept my heartfelt condolences and convey the same to other members of your family. I pray to the Almighty to give you and your family the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss”.

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the passing away of Shri JarbomGamlin, former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.
In his condolence message to his wife, Smt. ShakuntalaGamlin, the President has said, “I am extremely saddened to learn about the passing away of Shri JarbomGamlin.
Shri Gamlin made immense contribution towards the welfare of the people of the State of Arunachal Pradesh. His dedicated services as Legislator, Minister, Member of Parliament and Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh will always be remembered. In his death, the nation has lost a leader, who always worked for the common man.

Born on April 16 in 1961 at Aalo, Gamlin studied at Sainik School in Goalpara in Assam and graduated in History from St Stephen's College in Delhi. He obtained his law degree from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi in 1984. Later, he practised as a lawyer in Dibrugarh.

He was president of the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) for three years from 1981.

Although Gamlin first joined the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA), he switched over to Congress and became a member of the Lok Sabha from 1999-2004.

In 2004, he was elected to the state Assembly and became home minister in the Gegong Apang ministry.

In 2009, he became power minister in the Dorjee Khandu government.

On May 5, 2011, Gamlin became the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh after the death of Dorjee Khandu in a chopper accident.

His six-month-long chief ministerial tenure came to an end on October 31, 2011 after he resigned from the post following political upheaval in the state.

Gamlin was also elected to the Assembly this year.

Prime Minister condoles passing away of Shri AR Antulay
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has condoled the passing away of former Maharashtra CM and Union Minister Shri AR Antulay. He extended condolences to Shri Antulay`s family.
The Prime Minister recalled Shri Antulay’s contribution to public life and said that he was among the tall leaders of the Congress Party from Maharashtra.
