Creation of New State of Bundelkhand

A resolution for division of Uttar Pradesh into four new States namely, Paschim Pradesh, Bundelkhand, Avadh Pradesh and Poorvanchal was received from the Government of Uttar Pradesh in November, 2011.


A set of information was sought from the Government of Uttar Pradesh on this subject in December, 2011 which was not provided by the State Government. Presently, no proposal for creation of new States from the existing State of Uttar Pradesh is under consideration of the Union Government.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary in a written reply to Shri Bhairon Prasad Mishra in the Lok Sabha today.

Crime Against SC / ST Women

The National Commission for women (NCW) has expressed concern over women security at different times in view of the incidents of gang-rape of women in Delhi and other States.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has also taken a series of measures to strengthen the security apparatus to contain incidents of crimes against women. The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013 has been enacted to comprehensively cover all aspects of crimes against women.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has been sanctioned a sum of Rs.321.69 crore out of the Nirbhaya Fund to implement emergency response system to attend calls from women in distress and provide them immediate assistance.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary in a written reply to Shri P.V. Midhun Reddy in the Lok Sabha today.

Foreign Intelligence Agencies

The Pak Intelligence Agencies, particularly Pak ISI, has come to notice for conducting espionage activities in the country. During the period from January 2011 to November 2014, a total of 33 Pak backed espionage modules were neutralized in the country resulting in the arrest of 50 espionage agents including some retired Indian Government officials.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary in a written reply to Shri Prataprao Jadhav and Shri Jasvantsinh Sumanbhai Bhabhor in the Lok Sabha today.

Madrassas in West Bengal

There are no such reports about Madrassas in general, about preaching religious extremism or helping the terrorist organizations. However, during investigations into the Burdwan blast case, it has been disclosed that in three Madrassas controlled by illegal Bangladeshi migrants, religious extremism and indoctrination was being preached.

The Government has put in place the necessary mechanism to closely monitor the situation and has directed the intelligence and security agencies to identify such institutions, especially along the international borders and keep a watch on their activities.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary in a written reply to Dr. K.Kamaraj in the Lok Sabha today.

Crime by Juveniles

As per data available with the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), there has been a rise of 132% in incidents of crimes committed by juveniles against women in 2013 over previous year i.e. 2012.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development has recently introduced the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill 2014 in the Lok Sabha which contains both punitive and reformative measures for children in conflict with law. The objective of the bill is therefore to provide both deterrent and reformative options for overall development of children.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary in a written reply to Shri Sisir Kumar Adhikari in the Lok Sabha today.
