HOLIDAYS - Declaration of Bank Holiday on account of Annual Closing under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 on 02.04.2018 (Monday) instead of 01.04.2018 (Sunday) – Notified.

1) G.O.Rt.No.2438, G.A. (Poll.B) Department, dated:31.10.2017.
 2) From R.S. Srinivasan, Asst. General Manager (Personnel), Reserve Bank of India,
 Hyderabad Lr.No.HRMD/HYD/7328/09.15.01/2017-18, Dt.13.03.2018.

O R D E R:

                  In the G.O. first read above, Government have declared holiday on 01.04.2018 for the purpose of Annual Closing of Accounts under N.l. Act 1881.

 2) In the letter 2nd read above, RBI, Hyderabad submitted proposal of the Indian Banks’ Association and requested to declare 2nd April, 2018 as bank holiday under N. I. Act, 1881
for the purpose of closing of annual accounts in Banks as 1st April, 2018 falls on Sunday.

3) Government after careful examination of the proposal of the Indian Banks’ Association, have decided to declare Bank Holiday on 2nd April, 2018 under N.I. Act, 1881, instead of 1st April, 2018 for the purpose of closing of annual accounts in Banks.

4) Accordingly, the following Notification is hereby issued and shall be published in the Extraordinary Gazette of Andhra Pradesh:

NOTIFICATION

In partial modification of the orders issued notifying the 1st April, 2018 as Bank Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, in G.O.Rt.No.2438, General Administration
(Poll.B) Department dated:31.10.2017 for the purpose of closing of annual accounts in Bank, Government hereby declare 2nd April, 2018 as Bank Holiday under N.I. Act, 1881.
