There is no need for you to show the physical copy of driving licenses and Vehicle registration certificates to traffic cops from now. Govt has launched a new programme that integrates these documents to digital locker.

Another addition to digital lockers which means more options for people to save more documents in the government's innovative digital locker under the ambit of digital India mission.

Now you can save driving licenses and vehicle registration forms. Government has integrated digital locker with driving license and vehicle registration system.

Road transport ministry has over 19crore vehicle registrations and over 10 crore driving licenses on their database. Road transport ministry becomes 17th issuer of documents to digital lockers.

Digital lockers will enable to safe-keep their documents such as those related to address, identity, education, and property in a paperless format in the repository's free storage space.

One has to register and open an account on digital locker linked to Aadhaar card and can save the soft copies of their driving license and Vehicle registration documents in the locker.

These documents are then automatically verified. Ane when traffic cops ask for driving license or vehicle registration certificate People can provide these documents through Digital Locker mobile App.

They just have to select the Issued documents section and can select driving license by transport department and download the Driving license for the field staff. The digitally signed documents are at par with the physical issued documents as per IT Act 2000 when accessed electronically.
